Here Are 8 Easy Steps on How to Become a Real Estate Agent in Michigan:

Step 1: Go to MyRealEstateSchool.com/realestate

You’re going to have to start by taking a State Approved Real Estate Class with a reputable real estate school– The State of Michigan requires you to have 40 Hours of class time under your belt before you’re ready to take the next step.

Step 2: Choose a 40 Hour Classroom, Online, Home Study, or Webinar Course.

Every course has their pros and cons – If you need help in deciding how to become a real estate agent in Michigan, we will be happy to guide you:

Classroom: You can network with other students, raise your hand to ask questions, and focus easier with our engaging instructors. Day classes and night classes available.

Online: Access any time, 24/7, and login/logout whenever you want. There are timed sections with short exams along the way.

Home Study: We will send you a book and an exam. Pass the exam and you will receive credit for your course.

Webinar: Access a live course with an instructor teaching you from the comfort of your home or office.

Step 3: Complete Your Course!

Once you finish your course, we will send your name to the State of Michigan and let them know that you’re all set.

Step 4: Create an account at www.Michigan.gov/icola and Pay a Licensing Fee.

Normally, the fee is about $62 (this could vary). You are going to create an account and wait for a code to be sent to you.

Step 5: Wait for a code to be sent to you from Michigan.gov/icola.

You’ll usually get your code within 1-2 days — Without this code, you won’t be able to move on to the next step.

Step 6: Schedule your exam with PSIExams.com and pay a fee.

The fee is about $76 each time you take the exam. You will not need to pay the $62 to Michigan.gov/icola again.

Step 7: Pass your exam and find a broker.

Once you pass your exam, you will be able to sell real estate! Finding a broker is easy to do and we will be happy to guide you through the process. Your broker will get your license and you’ll be able to practice. And, don’t worry, you can always change brokers later.
