The current three year licensing cycle is quickly coming to a close! All real estate licensees must complete their continuing education hours by October 31, 2018 in order to renew their active real estate salesperson license.
Continuing education classes help real estate agents stay up to date on changing real estate laws and practices. By completing continuing education courses, you are maintaining your real estate expertise, so you can provide the best knowledge and service to your clients.
The State of Michigan requires all licensees to complete 6 credit hours (2 hours of legal and 4 hours of elective) for each year of the licensing cycle. If you haven’t completed your 18 hours yet, Michigan Institute of Real Estate is here to guide you through the process! Here are a few reminders as we approach the October 31st deadline:
- The total credits required for renewal may be prorated if your license was issued after 11/1/2015.
- The State of Michigan no longer tracks your continuing education hours. You are solely responsible for completing and tracking your CE hours.
- You must retain copies of class completion certificates for up to four years.
Michigan Institute of Real Estate offers several continuing education class options to fit your busy schedule. You can complete your hours with in person, online, or at home classes that meet state requirements.
